14th Joint Permanent Commission Flanders - Québec
On December 22th the 14th Joint Permanent Commission Flanders and Québec toke place. The main topic was the renewal of the cooperation agreement. In recent years, the cooperation between Québec and Flanders has constantly been reinforced. For example, only last September VLIZ (Flemish Institute of the Sea) and Ismer (l'Institut des Sciences de la Mer de Rimouski, Quebec) signed a Memorandum of Understanding on maritime research. But also in terms of culture, deradicalization, maritime affairs, environment and international relations, Flanders and Québec have parallel interests. Therefore, the existing cooperation will be renewed and further specified.

Quebec was one of the first bilateral partners which signed a cooperation agreement with Flanders. Since then the relationship has increasingly strengthened and diversified into different domains.
