Bourgeois visits world's biggest industrial fair Hannover Messe
On 23 April, Minister-president Geert Bourgeois paid a visit to Hannover Messe, one of world’s largest trade fairs. Bourgeois visited the exhibition stands of Flemish and international companies and the MAKE LAB, the mobile research infrastructure of the strategic research centre for the manufacturing industry in Flanders, Flanders Make.
Bourgeois’ visit started with a meeting with the management of the German trade show. In the afternoon, the Minister-president paid a visit to the Flemish exhibitors SGC Switchgear Company and Mevoco, and was welcomed at the 'Global Business & Markets’: Hannover Messe’s trade platform for international contacts. He also met with Stephan Weil, Minister-president of Lower Saxony and Winfried Hermann, Minister of Transport of Baden-Württemberg.
With his visit to Hannover, Bourgeois wants to emphasise the importance of the transition to an Industry 4.0.: “This transition is absolutely crucial for our economy as we want to keep and further strengthen the industrial activity in Flanders”.
