Minister-president with FIT to Brazil and Peru

From 3 to 7 April, Minister-president Geert Bourgeois visited Brazil and Peru. Flanders Investment & Trade organized the mission.

In Sao Paulo, the largest logistics fair in the world, Intermodal, took place. With, for the 19th time, a Flemish stand: Flanders Investment & Trade brought together the Flemish ports and big players in the field of logistics. Our strong logistical sector was also mentioned by Minister-president Bourgeois during his meeting with Geraldo Alckmin, the governor of Sao Paulo. The state of Sao Paulo is Brazil's economic locomotive. The governor plans to invest heavily in infrastructure of ports, inland shipping, subways and roads. Minister-president Bourgeois hopes that Flemish companies will be allowed to compete for these contracts.

On April 6, the Minister-president and Claire Tillekaerts, CEO of Flanders Investment & Trade, opened the 5th FIT office in Latin America in Peru's capital Lima. Claire Tillekaerts: "Peru has shown one of the highest growth rates in the world for the past 10 years. Due to this continuous growth, there is a lot of need for knowledge and technology, for which Peru looks far beyond national borders. " Bruno Giuffra, Peru's Minister for Production, attended the opening.
