Committee on Education headed to Cambridge and London

  • January 25, 2019

From 24 to 25 January, the Committee on Education of the Flemish Parliament paid a study visit to Cambridge and London. The main purpose of the visit was to get acquainted with the British education system. Representative Nic Van der Marliere and Deputy General Representative Bart Brosius accompanied the members.

Thursday’s programme included a guided tour of Cambridge. The visit offered an excellent opportunity to learn more about the operation of the university and its colleges. They also talked to a number of Flemish students about their experience at Cambridge.

The members afterwards visited London where they entered into dialogue with Flemish academics, active in the UK, to learn more about the differences between English and Flemish education. The two-day study trip ended with a visit to the BETT trade show, world’s leading education technology conference.
