On 26 February, minister-president Bourgeois had a constructive meeting with director-general da Silva of the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) in Rome. Flanders is a longstanding and trusted partner of FAO, specifically working together in Malawi. Common objectives of Flanders and FAO in Malawi are, amongst others, agriculture, nutrition and food security.
During the meeting, minister-president Bourgeois ensured continued cooperation with FAO for the next five years. In order to strengthen the partnership, Flanders is willing to allocate more budget. Both partners will outline this intensification together in the near future.
