On 27 September, the new political year in the Flemish Parliament was opened by Minister-President Jambon with the traditional September statement.
In his speech, the Minister-President referred to a strong Flanders that is leaping up after the pandemic. Flanders must be ambitious not only in economic terms, but also in the field of climate and government efficiency.
“Flanders must become champion of the post-corona era,” said Minister-President Jambon.
Flanders has proven to be a technological stronghold, for example with the massive production of corona vaccines at Pfizer in Puurs. Continuing on that momentum, Flanders will further profile itself as the cradle of technological innovations to solve social problems.
In addition, Flanders is looking to the North, also in terms of climate. The Minister-President referred to his recent working visit to Denmark. It once again showed the need to convince companies to make climate-friendly investments. The Government of Flanders will support them in this.
