OECD Economic Country Survey – Policy mission to Flanders
On 9 September the Economic Country Survey 2019 consultation between OECD and the Flemish government took place at the General Representation of the Government of Flanders within the Permanent Representation of Belgium to the EU. The consultation, or policy mission, follows the fact finding mission of OECD that took place in March. The Department of Public Governance and the Chancellery coordinates the Flemish side of the survey and prepared both missions.
The OECD Economic Country Survey is a biennial exercise, that is carried out by the Economic Department within the OECD, with the aim of formulating recommendations that should enable the country under investigation to excel on social and economic level. As many of the examined parameters fall under Flemish policy, the direct input from Flemish experts is essential for the survey. The final report will be published at the end of this year.
The General Representation to the EU of Flanders was the rather unique location for the consuItation. Both the Flemish and the visiting delegations thanked Representative Axel Buyse for the excellent reception.
