On July 18, the exhibition "Dürer war hier - eine Reise wird Legende" was opened in the King's Hall of the town hall in Aachen, Germany. The journey deals with Dürer's stay in the Low Countries, to which Antwerp also belonged in 1520-1521. Dürer had his workplace there and from there he also traveled to Aachen on the occasion of the coronation of Charles V.
Against this background, the Government of Flanders supported the last exhibition of the departing museum director Peter van den Brink in the Suermondt Ludwig Museum. Together with the mayor of Aachen, Sybille Keupen, and the minister of Federal and European Affairs and International Affairs of the federal state of North Rhine-Westphalia, Dr. Stephan Holthoff-Pförtner, Jeroen Overmeer, head of cabinet of Flemish Minister-President Jan Jambon, opened the exhibition, which will be on display until October 24, 2021.
Afterwards, both government representatives met for a working lunch to discuss the upcoming joint government meeting and cross-border issues. This involved hydrogen, the role of the regions in Europe and 3RX. The meeting was overshadowed by the current situation in the flooded crisis areas.
