On Sunday 29 September, Polish President Andrzej Duda visited the Polish military cemetery in Lommel on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the liberation.
The cemetery contains the graves of 257 Polish servicemen of the Second World War. In addition to a tribute to the memorial of Lommel, the Polish president also visited the traveling exhibition 'Armoured Wings'. With film and photo material, the exhibition shows the story of the liberation of a part of Flanders by the First Armored Division of Polish General Maczek.
The visit fits within the framework of the 100th anniversary of the diplomatic relations that our country maintains with Poland.
