On the 29th of January 2019, Secretary-General Karine Moykens and Administrator-General dr. Dirk Dewolf of the Policy Domain of Welfare, Public Health and Family, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Dr. Chi-Kung Ho, Deputy Minister of the (ROC) Taiwanese Ministry of Health and Welfare.
Both parties agreed to strengthen their technical-administrative cooperation on bilateral level. They are planning to organize study visits in Flanders and Taiwan on specific themes and experts will be invited to participate in international conferences.
The MoU defines that cooperation between the administrations will focus on sharing of expertise and good practices in the fields of data sharing mechanisms in health care, hospital management (design, financing, construction,…), hospital inspection (Care Inspectorate) and accreditation, long-term and elderly care.
