A South African delegation from the Ministry of Youth Development (NYDA) paid a working visit to Flanders from 4 to 9 February. The delegation was introduced to several Flemish youth work initiatives and was received by Minister Sven Gatz and Alderman Jinnih Beels.
While at the Department of Culture, Youth and Culture, the cooperation with Flanders’ South African colleagues was discussed, youth workers from South Africa visited Flemish youth work organisations, such as the Flemish Youth Council.
Since 1994, Flanders and South Africa are building a strong youth policy and youth work development. The six-day visit was part of a 5-year programme, called 'Upscaling and promoting youth volunteering in civil society organisations'.
