Project: Operating grant 2018 Beneficiary: Eurometropolis Lille-Kortrijk-Tournai Budget: 90.387,28 euro Duration: 2018 The Eurometropolis Lille - Kortrijk – Tournai is a European Territorial Cooperation Group and brings together all French and Belgian government levels via 14 institutions, working together to erase the "border effect" and make day-to-day life easier for its 2.1 million inhabitants. EUROMETROPOLIS is a hub for all cross-border information, activities and services, supporting their exploitation and development and sometimes even adapting them.

With this exhibition two exceptional paintings will be reunited for the first time in 20 years, namely 'The Holy Virgin the Carthusian' by Jan van Eyck and 'the Exeter - Madonna' by Petrus Christus.

Project: operations of the Al Kamandjâti music school, Ramallah Beneficiary: Al Kamandjâti music school Budget: 30.000 euro Duration: 2018 Al Kamandjâti (AK) has established music schools in numerous locations in Palestine and Lebanon that service approximately 500 children, providing music instruction in strings, woodwinds, brass, piano, guitar, oriental and occidental percussion, oud, nay, voice, music appreciation, ensemble playing and music theory. Instruments are provided for the children at no cost, allowing those without means to pursue their musical dreams.

Qattan Foundation after the end of the festival Under Construction: Flemish Palestinian Connection Beneficiary: Connexion vzw Budget: 35.000 euro Period: 2018 Connexion and A.M. Qattan Foundation had the ambition to bridge the distance between Flanders and Palestine by bringing together artists and stimulating exchange and cooperation through the Flanders Under Construction Festival. An initial evaluation of the Under Construction Festival shows that the project successfully applies to collaboration and co-production.

The Government of Flanders defines the status of "Foundation Member" of the WEF. The Minister-president of the Government of Flanders has repeatedly participated in the annual meeting in Davos. During this meeting, recent economic, political, social and scientific trends are discussed.

The event is an opportunity for representatives of the Dutch and Flemish governments and the Dutch/Belgian business community.

Project: Contributions to the Special Account for support to countries in post-conflict and post-disaster situations: crisis response in Nepal Beneficiary: UNESCO Amount: 25.000 USD Duration: 2015 With this contribution Flanders supports UNESCO's emergency actions in the aftermath of the major earthquakes on 25 April and 12 May 2015 in Nepal. These earthquakes caused great damage in the Kathmandu Valley, a World Heritage site known for its unique temples, stupas and historic houses.

Project: Emergency Safeguarding of the Site of Palmyra: Implementation of the World Heritage Committee Decisions Beneficiary: UNESCO Amount: 100.000 USD Duration: 2016 – 2018 Due to the armed conflict in Syria, many World Heritage sites were damaged, including the well-known site of Palmyra. Since the site was accessible again in 2016, Unesco dispatched a rapid assessment mission to assess the damages and identify emergency measures.

Project: Protection of heritage of religious interest as a tool for reconciliation (Iraq) Beneficiary: UNESCO Amount: 250.000 USD Duration: 2018 – 2019 In the aftermath of the ISIS/Daesh occupation of Northern parts of Iraq, there is a need for mapping the damage they have done to religious heritage in a systematic manner. Unesco aims in this project to devise a methodology for this and to use it for a comprehensive assessment of the damage and needs. Following that assessment the results will be published and distributed through scientific community and the public at large.

This marine site is one of the most pristine marine areas in the world and home to numerous endangered species.
