Project: PLATO Iraqi Kurdistan project Beneficiary: Voka Antwerpen-Waasland Budget: 120.000 euro Duration: 24 months Voka – Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Antwerpen-Waasland – wants to exchange its expertise in PLATO projects with experts from Iraqi Kurdistan to strengthen SMEs in their economic ambitions. The PLATO project is a Voka sponsorship project that provides support and guidance to companies based on three pillars: information transfer, experience exchange and networking.

Project: Pieter Bruegel exhibition Beneficiary: Kunsthistorisches Museum Vienna (KHM) Budget: 150.000 euro Duration: 2018-2020 The Kunsthistorisches Museum Vienna (KHM) is dedicating the world’s first major monograph exhibition to Pieter Bruegel the Elder. 2019 sees the 450th anniversary of the dead Bruegel. The collection consists for a significant part of art collection of the Habsburg monarchy. The collection of paintings focuses on the old masters from the 15th to 18th century.

Project: Coordinaton of the humanitarian consortium COSACA in Mozambique Beneficiary: Oxfam Solidariteit Budget: 478.793,16 euro Duration: 2018 – 2019 COSACA consists of the international aid organizations Oxfam, CARE International, Save the Children and Concern Worldwide. Through joint and coordinated action, COSACA has been working to increase capacity for disaster preparedness, response, and coordination. Beneficiary: World Health Organization (WHO) Budget: 2.000.000 euros Duration: 2018 - 2021 The disease burden in Mozambique is characterized by a large proportion of climate-sensitive diseases. Malaria (6.2 million cases in 2016) and HIV / AIDS (13.2% prevalence in 2015) make up more than half of the mortality in Mozambique. Recurrent epidemics of climate-sensitive diseases (such as cholera, measles, dengue fever, chikungunya, West Nile and yellow fever) put pressure on the already over-health system.

FAO project 'strengthening integrated adaptation planning and implementation in small-scale farming systems in Southern Africa'
Duration: 4 years Budget: 3.500.000 The Government of Flanders focuses on structural measures and works closely with the United Nations Organization for Agriculture and Food (FAO). From 2016 till 2019, FAO will assist Malawi, Mozambique and Zambia to increase the climate resilience and food security of local farmers. Project: Emergency aid for the refugees of Mosul, Iraq) Beneficiary: UNHCR Amount: 350.000 euro Duration: november 2016 The Government of Flanders approved a grant of 350,000 euros to UNHCR for the refugees from Mosul. Mosul is the third largest city in Iraq and located just across the border of the Kurdish Autonomous Region in Iraq. Since 2014, Mosul is controlled by Islamic State (IS). The Kurdish population but also a significant Christian minority in the city were largely persecuted and expelled.
