Grant to World Health Organization (WHO) for improving public health systems through climate resilience in Mozambique, 2018
Beneficiary: World Health Organization (WHO) Budget: 2.000.000 euros Duration: 2018 - 2021 The disease burden in Mozambique is characterized by a large proportion of climate-sensitive diseases. Malaria (6.2 million cases in 2016) and HIV / AIDS (13.2% prevalence in 2015) make up more than half of the mortality in Mozambique. Recurrent epidemics of climate-sensitive diseases (such as cholera, measles, dengue fever, chikungunya, West Nile and yellow fever) put pressure on the already over-health system.

Grant for child abuse prevention in South Africa and Malawi, 2011 (WHO)
Duration: 2011 Budget: 150.000 euros Child abuse still occurs far too often around the world. The World Health Organisation (WHO) puts this theme high on the agenda of national governments worldwide. By doing so, it wants to raise awareness and increase the governments’ capacity to tackle this problem. Duration and budget In 2011, the Government of Flanders donated 150,000 euros towards the implementation of this project. Problem definition Worldwide, over 150 million girls and 73 million boys, aged under 18, are victim of sexual violence.
