On 21 April 2016, the Country Strategy Paper (CSP) for Development Cooperation between Flanders and Mozambique was approved by the Government of Flanders. The health sector will remain at the heart of cooperation with Mozambique; the Government of Flanders aims to commit annually € 5 million to this cooperation. However, both governments have agreed to place an additional focus on adolescents (10 – 19 years) and more specifically on adolescent girls, as Mozambican teenage girls are very vulnerable in terms of sexual and reproductive health and rights.

Summary: The agreement promotes gradual rapprochement between the Parties based on common values and close and privileged links, and increasing Ukraine's association with EU policies and participation in programmes and agencies. Summary: The Benelux countries and the Baltic States already automatically recognize the diplomas of other Member States within their respective cooperation and therefore are pioneers within the European Union. With this political statement, the ministers want to build a bridge between the two regional partnerships in order to give an impetus to the creation of a European Higher Education Area. The countries will now prepare a multilateral treaty that also will allow other countries or regions to accede at a later date. Project: pre-production and presentation of the play 'The Island of Future Dreams/Eiland van Drome Wat Nog Kom'. Beneficiary: Vrystaat Budget: 37.000 euros Period: 2019 The Island of Future Dreams' is a joint project of the Vrystaat Arts Festival (Vryfees, South Africa), Bram De Goeij (Netherlands) and Stef De Paepe van De Maan (Flanders). This collaboration is the result of encounters during their participation in the Assistej-festival in Cape Town (May 2017). The Island of Future Dreams' is a play made for, and based on conversations with, South African young adults.

Project: Flexible Multi-Partner Mechanism for Accelerated Impact Fund (FMM) Beneficiary: FAO  Amount: 3 000 000 euro Duration: 2020 By anticipating to innovative ideas and pilot projects in the countries where FAO works, the fund can be a catalyst for sustainable development. The FMM makes it possible for the FAO to deploy resources where they are most needed and have the greatest impact.

Project: South-Africa - Flanders Climate Change Adaptation Research and Training partnership: building the adaptation knowledge and capacity base Beneficiary: African Climate and Development Initiative (ACDI)  Amount: 2 198 505 euro Duration: 2020 Strengthening the capacity of South African society in the field of climate adaptation by training young people, especially from disadvantaged groups, at university level. The project provides 19 research grants for Masters students, PhD students and postdoctoral researchers.

Project: Strengthening the health system in Mozambique Beneficiary: Population Services Internatonal Amount: 1 500 000 euro Duration: 2020 - 2023 Strengthen the capacity and motivation for delivering Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights services to adolescents. Through training, data analysis to support decisions in health posts and by increasing the demand for SRHR services through a communication campaign.  

Project: Health, Education and Adolescents Rights in Mozambique Beneficiary: Ariel Glader Foundation and União a Vida Amount: 880 366 euro Duration: 2020 - 2023 Strengthen the health system and its human capacity, and the service and development of education and health programs, both with strong involvement of adolescents. Via a mobile “adolescent-friendly” health service, both health workers are trained and direct health services are offered.

Project: Leaving no adolescent behind: improving access to inclusive, gender sensitive and quality sexual and reproductive health care services in Mozambique Beneficiary: Doctors for Africa and ICHR-Mozambique Amount: 1 500 000 euro Duration: 2020 - 2023 Strengthening the link between health facilities, communities and schools, with specific attention to excluded young people.

Project: An Inclusive, Positive Deviance Approach to improving Adolescent Reproductive and Sexual Health Services and Communications in Mozambique Beneficiary: PCI Media,  ICHR-Mozambique and TV Surdo Amount: 1 499 795 euro Duration: 2020 - 2024 Increase motivation and sharpen the skills of health professionals who provide information to adolescents about Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights through an innovative communication toolkit. There is special attention for young people who live with a disability.
