With a strong network in and the great knowledge of both the Flemish and Japanese cultural field, Arts Flanders Japan is the natural intermediary. Grant to Museum Dr Guislain for the exhibition 'Stigma en pyschiatrie' (2019)
Project: Exhibition 'Stigma and psychiatry' in Japan Beneficiary: Museum Dr Guislain Amount: 90.000 euro Duration: 2019 - 2020 This Flemish-Dutch project offers the possibility to indirectly address a social problem (stigmatisation of mentally ill people) with a cultural project. This is a social problem of which the Japanese health care system is very aware, but for which one is looking towards Western Europe to make this theme a subject of discussion. Europe and Flanders have already coma a long way in making mental illness a subject of discussion.
