Senior officials gather in Dusseldorf: government-wide consultation with North Rhine-Westphalia
On 28 November, the Flemish Board of Senior Officials – the head of the administration - paid a visit to its counterpart in Dusseldorf. The consultation with the secretaries of state of North Rhine-Westphalia was chaired by Minister for Federal Affairs, Europe and Media, Franz-Josef Lersch-Mense.
Digitization was the main theme of the day. The NRW Ministry of Justice presented its progressive vision of e-justice, e-government, change management and the digital revolution. The Flemish officials elaborated on the themes of Industry 4.0 and Government 4.0.
Also the active involvement of North Rhine-Westphalia as preferred partner of the Benelux was discussed. As the follow-up of nine decisions made during the first joint Flemish - NRW government meeting on December 8, 2015. The decisions involved integration (in employment), radicalization, joint strategy with chemistry sector in the Netherlands, Energy, Iron Rhine, intelligent transport systems, dual learning, welfare and public health and culture.
