US academics visit Flemish universities
From 25 to 27 June, seven representatives from American universities and knowledge institutions visited Flanders. At the invitation of the Department of Foreign Affairs, they got acquainted with the Flemish universities and their research campuses. The United States are an important partner of Flanders for years in the fields of research and development.
During their visit, the guests were introduced to the Ghent University spin-off ProDigest and the Leuven Campuses for Science & Technology and Biomedical Sciences. In addition, they visited the Flemish Parliament and the European Commission.
The United States are a desirable destination for Flemish students and researchers. The interest of Flemish research institutions for cooperation with American knowledge institutions is considerable. With this visit, Flanders wishes to increase interest in the opposite direction. Academic cooperation and exchange is one of the Flemish spearheads in the cooperation with the United States.
This edition of the "Flanders Inspires International Visitors Programme" was organized in collaboration with Flanders House New York and the Fulbright Commission, which manages scholarships for Flemish-American student and academic exchanges.
