Working visit to Taiwan

From 10 to 15 January, a delegation from the Government of Flanders was invited by the Taiwanese representation for a working visit to Taipei. Among the scheduled activities were visits to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Science and Technology, introductions to the Agency for Energy and the Environment Administration and presentations of the Green Trade Project Office and the Tourism Bureau.

The purpose of the visit is a better understanding of Taiwan’s current progress in international diplomacy and the development of relations with China, and to explore cooperation possibilities in the fields of innovation and science, renewable energy and environment protection.

The Government of Flanders maintains good relations with Taiwan. With this visit the Taiwanese representation wishes to provide the delegation a comprehensive overview of current developments in Taiwan with the aim to strengthen future cooperation.
